An economical and ecological alternative to rock armour structures
Traditional rock armour structures, designed to break the energy of the waves before reaching the shore and thus limit the silting of the protected coastal area, are very heavy constructions, requiring a significant amount of rock fill, substantial logistical support, and considerable transportation costs. Therefore, the economic and ecological impact of these structures is extremely high.
Moreover, to ensure the stability of the structure, the blocks must be positioned in a trapezoidal pattern, requiring a very large footprint. .
SEACURE Solution: GeoShore®
SEACURE designs, sizes, and installs innovative gabion walls to protect the coastline from erosion. Cost-effective and more ecological than traditional concrete or rock armour solutions, GeoShore® can reinforce an existing structure (rock armour dyke, concrete groin) by creating a protective "patch" at the base of the structure.
Built on a metallic supporting structure filled with small rocks, GeoShore® incorporates GEOCORAIL® technology which covers the metal structure and protects it from corrosion, ensuring its durability.
Moreover, thanks to the composition and biomimetic appearance of the GEOCORAIL® coating, GeoShore® can become a large artificial reef and recreate a biodiversity hotspot.
