GeoDock® – Protection of port structures and pontoons
With GeoDock®, SEACURE offers a reinforced protection solution for pontoons, quays and port infrastructure through GEOCORAIL® technology.

Weaknesses of current solutions
Masonry quays are mostly historical port structures made of stones and stone facings.
Over time and due to marine wear, these masonry structures can show several types of deterioration:
- Settlement and degradation of the masonry paving
- Widespread erosion of joints
- Loosening of coping stones and/or facings
- Scour at the base of the quay...
If left untreated, these issues can, in the long term, compromise the structural integrity of the quay.
SEACURE Solution: GeoDock®
To reduce the risk of stone loosening, SEACURE uses the GEOCORAIL® process to create a rocky coating on the masonry structure. This innovative solution, called GeoDock®, is installed in 4 phases:
- Phase 1: Filling voids and cavities resulting from stone loosening with pozzolana stone
- Phase 2: Fixing avalanche nets or expanded metal plates over the at-risk area
- Phase 3: Polarizing the metal structures for approximately 24 months using the GEOCORAIL® process to achieve a rocky coating of significant thickness
- Phase 4: Once the GEOCORAIL® coating is obtained, the process is stopped. The rocky layer provides additional protection and support to the masonry quay. The risk of stone loosening in the treated area is reduced, thereby decreasing the risk of water infiltration and fine particle loss.
