GeoSeabed® – Seabed and sediment stabilization
GeoSeabed® stabilizes seabed and sediments to prevent erosion and secure submarine infrastructure. Protected by GEOCORAIL®.
GeoSeabed®
Vulnerability of quays and port structures
Scour caused by marine currents, tides, as well as vessel movements and propulsion systems of berthed boats, creates erosion that weakens quays and port structures.
This phenomenon leads to recurring repair needs:
series of berms, concrete bench repairs... which represent significant maintenance costs to keep the structure in good condition over the long term.
SEACURE Solution: GeoSeabed®
To protect quays from scour, SEACURE designs, develops, and installs anti-scour mats called GeoSeabed®.
Made of polarizable geotextile (using a patented process including copper wires in the textile), these mats are covered with a protective layer of GEOCORAIL® that protects the structure from tearing and ripping.
Once deployed, GeoSeabed® conforms to the contour of the seabed where the scour occurs, effectively relocating the erosion.
Furthermore, the composition and biomimetic appearance of the calcomagnesian coating promote the regeneration of marine biodiversity on the structure, effectively turning it into an artificial reef.
The advantages of GeoSeabed®:
- Lightweight and easy to install
- Designed according to vessel size
- Immediate effect on the structure
- Cost-effective placement
